Sparkle shoes!

Hello readers!!!! 

It has been a while! I wanted to show you what I made and unfortunately because of what a messy project this was, I have one picture!

A group of us girls decided to sparkle some shoes while the boys played a game! Most of the girl did solid color sparkle shoes but if you know me even in the slightest I dont like the "norm". So I made rainbow sparkle shoes! All you need to do it modge podge the shoe (we had homemade modge podge) and pour your glitter one! We learned the VERY hard way that you need extra fine glitter. Big glitter does not work!!! After it dries a bit add a sealer spray. The one I have is modge podge brand I found at Micheal's. My shoes needed two coats of the sealer. But some of the others only needed one!

Dying Jars

So recently I have been called into the Young Womans program for our Church. I am a VERY hands on person so I decided I needed a cute thing to hold my magnets and pens and such. So I decided to dye jars. I took a couple tutorials and made it my own.

I added food coloring to clear elmers glue.

And then I tipped and spun and did my thing and I let it dry.

SO I did a "yellow" one however it turned orange. 

I was impatient and I kept tipping trying to get the look I wanted thats why there are streaks but I like it) even though they were dry I felt they needed something more. 

So with my hot glue in had and modge podge at the ready I made these cute decorations.

Wallah!

The Picture Frame Remake

Things have been pretty calm around here. We are getting into the swing of thing and trying to learn the new area. Someone (yes I am the guilty party) buried the camera under a pile of papers. Needless to say it has been MIA for a while. Until today. It was found. We have been doing some fun crafts around here and we wanted to share.

I have been asking, no begging, no pleading on my knees with cherry on top for a year or two now for a jewerly holder or something. All of my pretty things have been hiding out in little boxes! But Pinterest and Goodwill came to the rescue! We decided to make a jewerly picture frame. 

We found this sweet and somewhat tacky photo of ducks at good will along with a semi lace looking shirt thing. 

For some reason I could not get the ugliness of this frame to come across it was like blue crackled paint with wait showing through it was hideous! So I sanded spots away and got to painting.

I am in this phase in life where I want everything to be teal. Isnt teal such a wonderful color. Its warm and cool and unique all at the same time. 

I guess I went crazy with taking too many photos of one thing and not enough of another. With that being said I am also in the vintage antiqued look right now also. So I took my sanding block and roughed out the edges of the frame after the paint was applied.

Stapled Lace on it and Wallah! However I really wanted it to hold necklaces...

So we just happened to have eyehooks laying around. So we took some snipper things and some holder thing and went to work into making them hooks instead of holes. 

We had a lot to do and I was frustrated so I took pictures and Stefen made them beautiful.

And then came the VERY tedious and lucrative task of screwing those puppies in. 

Wallah all done! And I love it I must say.

The Luckiest wreath ever!

Pinterest has awesome ideas but sometimes I have to enhance their ideas to fit my ideas. I really wanted to try the cupcake liner wreath but I wanted it done so you could see some of the clovers and not have to use a million stick pins. So hot glue and I became the worst of enemies while I glued this thing together. The end result is fabulous!

End result. I really wanted to add some rainbow so it wasnt overpowering on the green. I think it helped a lot. 

I LOVE this cookie cutter I found. Its awesome!

A couple clovers came to life. This was the hardest part!

Grandmas Pillow

For my grandparents Christmas presents the last couple year I have made some sort of something and gave it to them. This year it was a pillow with AZ on it and UT and our initials they loved it!

The Story of the Paintchips

So we all know how much I love Pinterest, right? Well there have been a few ideas of things to do with the free paintchip cards you can get at Lowes and Home Depot. So I thought well we need some sort of leaves for our tree, OOOO paintchips would work. So thats was started this adventure. Stefen and I went to Lowes! I didnt know if there was a limit on how many you could take and we needed a bunch and I was slightly embarrassed to be seen with 40 chips of the same color. So we came up with a plan. We would grab 4 or 6 of one color and stuff them in my purse. If someone walked by Stefen would grab a random color (which usually was blue) and say wouldn't this be great in the living room? The person would walk away and we would crack up laughing. Now this happened like 5 times. I am sure that the people on the security cameras were laughing too. At one point in this mission we were laughing to hard and couldnt get the pirse open. I had like 10 in my hand at that point. I knew that we were going to be in trouble. Just as somebody waalked by the magically slipped into the purse. We were done after that. This was becoming a very stressful process. We ended up walking away with 40 some odd paintchips.

New Skirt!

Please note this is a spin off of something I found off of Pinterest. I found a dress that had a shirt sewed to a skirt. It was super cute but I didnt want a shirt sewed onto my skirt so here enters Bri's imagination... I created my own skirt! Yep thats right not one single pattern was used in the making of this skirt. I am pretty excited!

Random Updates

Before I get to the posts about our trip I wanted to share these moments....

On general conference Sunday we had been asked to help a friend with his car. On the ground there was power steering fluid everywhere and Stefen needed to get under the car. So In 105 degree weather he had to where this insulated work coveralls. Luckily he took off his clothes so he wouldnt be too hot but the poor thing was sweating bullets. But we got it fixed.

We made Delicious monkey bread

Since I have bangs again I really wanted a headband so I found a patteren I like and walah headband in 20 min.

More Halloween crafts!

If you cant tell that I love halloween yet then something is wrong! There will be many more posts but were going out of town so they will be stopped for a little while

With today being general conferance for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I thought it would be fun to do a candy corn waffle. We just dyed the batter orange and yellow and then had the regular batter and here they are!

I saw these jugs on pinterest and thought they would be so cute and easy. So here are our ghost jugs in all their glory!

More crafting...

Have I told you about my love for Pinterest? Well I LOVE it! I have found some fun stuff to make and some yummy recipes to concoct. These 2 crafts that I am displaying today I got the ideas from Pinterest but made them in my own way. The first one is an anniversary gift for Stefen. Dont worry he saw it already! I was s excited to give it him I couldnt wait. I knew he would love it and he did! 

So I got a deck of cards and I used sand paper to make them look worn out. I wanted a really old feel to it so I atteched the paper with why I love him with elmers glue so it would warp the cards. I also burned a couple of the cards and I added some little cutsie stuff. It turned out awesome! And it took me only a day to make it.

some of them i used a permanent marker to write in some words to make it look like the message got ripped off or forgotten.

Project number 2 this week and the most complicated was a spiders egg with spiders coming out of it. Let me tell you making the egg with only one person is NOT recommended. Unfortunately Stefen was working so I did by myself. I didnt get the globs of glue off like your suppose to but i like how it turned out. I used glue, corn startch and water as my adhesive for the glue and wrapped the yarn and glue around a balloon. and then after it tried it was really cool to watch the balloon detach itself from the yarn. And then we took string and tied the spiders. Which was a pain too because they kept getting tangled. But o well it looks awesome!
