I'm Kinda a Jerk..

Stefen has decided he is kinda a jerk and its a good thing he married me.
I am the type of person who always tries to help people when I can.
Stefen on the other hand "forgets" or simply doesn't think about it.
When we were in Utah still there was a snow storm and we were going to my moms house in the truck and we saw a car that has 0% traction trying to make it up a really bug hill. I told Stefen we should tow him up the really big hill. Stefen's response: He will be okay. After a little bit of persuasion and watching this guy literally slip backwards down the hill in this blizzard Stefen changed his mind. So we pulled out the tow strap and dragged the man up the hill. Stefen says he wouldn't have done that if I wasn't with him.
Another time I had Stefen drop me of at church and go back and pick up this cute family that was walking to church in the blaring sun while the mother is pregnant. Well this same family was at walmart the other day waiting for a taxi cab to take them the 2 blocks home when Stefen saw them. He talked to them for a minute and then walked away. Without offering them a ride home.. When he finally thought about it they were getting into their cab. He has told me I need to be there so he can do nice things and not be a jerk...

But hes not always a jerk... In fact tonight he went and helped a family move in... Just thought ya'll would like to hear a story or two..

I guess we should talk about the animal in the trash can... So I was taking the trash out the other night at work and I have a slight aversion to dead animals. I tend to cry and freak out. I opened the gate to the dumpster and I saw a huge dead deer or elk or something. I screamed and I screamed loudly and started shouting DEAD ANIMAL.. I was already in tears and my coworker was laughing as hard as she could as she walked to where I was. She went in the gate with me so I would freak out even more only to discover it was a trophy head of a ram. Yes ladies and gentlemen I freaked out over a trophy animal. (It really was very traumatizing) Well the next morning my boss(who had not yet heard I had a traumatizing experiance in the trash bin) walked to the gate opened it and freaked out as well. Although mine experience was slightly more dramatic and terrifying we both have been made fun of for days.. I thought maybe I would take a picture of it today (its still there) But I couldn't bring myself to walk back over there until its gone.

Today was a huge feat for us.. We finally started to redo the dresser we have been talking about redoing for months and months. Today we sanded it and primed it. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the week.

Things to miss about summer...

Being in Arizona for our first summer has been different.. Don't get me wrong its been fun with the blazing heat and the monsoons but its nothing like home... So here is my list of things that at least I mess about summer..

My friend Breanne and I found this candy shop is Gardner Village that sells taffy town taffy for cheap by the pound.. (I love taffy but Taffy town taffy is my ALL time favorite candy!) I havent been able to find that kind of taffy here. We would go in the spring and summer and get huge bag fulls and pig out..

I miss driving right up the mountain and making tin foil dinners and s'mores. Its too hot here and there aren't exactly mountains around to drive up too.. 

I miss being able to drive down to Manti for the Manti pageant. We have the Mesa pageant here but it wasnt as fun without my friends Megan and Dan.. We always had fun on those "short" road trips.

I miss boating. We were able to go to Lake Powell earlier this year which was a blast but last year we were able to go out on the wave runners and boat several times. Unfortunately it is too hot here and there aren't really lakes close by nor do we have a boat or wave runners. 

I miss summer BBQ's. Luckily I was able to participate in one when I went up to Utah. But I usually go to several in a summer... Its too hot here. But we do go to friends houses and play games.

I know Stefen misses boating and wave running as he has told me. He misses BBQ's and his mothers amazing BBQ'd shrimp. (we are cheap right now and cant afford shrimp..)

We have had a fun summer with friends and we are very excited to go to a Supirse Ninja birthday party for a friend.  (hes turning like 25 not 2) We are thrilled to be making friends and being able to be invited places!! 

The boring world of Bri and Stefen

Our lives have not been that interesting as of late.We have been working and doing school and really nothing else. We went to the temple last Saturday and it was wonderful. Stefen's sister sent us a gift card for his birthday and we got to enjoy Red Lobster which was amazing! (Thanks Jena)

I have been doing summer camp at work which has been a blast playing with all the kids!

There is a website called My Give Away Today that features different companies and they well give something away. So I won a $35 giftcard from a cute etsy shop called Justbeccuz. I got this cute Happy Birthday sign that I just LOVE!!!

4th of July

As this wonderful holiday was approaching Stefen and I got slightly worried as to what we were going to do. We had to do something way more fun than last year which was very exciting since we got engaged the day before and the day of July 4th we had a BBQ to get old friends together but to celebrate as well. With not having family here and only having a few friends we thought our plans would be to stay home and watch movies and attempt to watch fireworks somewhere....

That's when we were told that there would be a wonderful BBQ and some water games.. Little did we know that it would turn into a huge thing at the church with a giant slip and slide!! 

So to start at the beginning we were asked to bring a side of some sort and since we can fruit at our famous Mexi Mart we decided to do a mixed fruit salad. We bought some Honeydew and I was trying to deskin the thing, which was not working so Stefen suggested using our most amazing peeler. Well while in a war with the peeler to get the skin of the honeydew it decided to take a chunk of skin out of my finger. (pictures are on facebook) so the few pictures that you will see of me there is duct tape so it doesnt get infected.

Our day started with a ward breakfast (which I forgot my camera) Stefen unfortunately had to work so I went with some friends and it was Delicious. After Stefen got off we watched a movie and got ready for dinner!!

O Ya! Some foot action!

After all the fun we went home to change into dry clothes. On our way to get our friends to go watch fireworks we were informed that some were going to watch fireworks and others were going to watch a movie. We decided a movie would be more fun. And it was!! 

Our 4th of July was a blast!! Its going to be weird not celebrating the 24th of July since its a Utah holiday. But I guess we will have to throw our own little party!!

Can I just get my money back?

So Stefen and I dont have a very big tv and we dont have cable or dish or anything like that. We just have a small collection of dvd's and thats it. So last weekend we were bored and we came up with the idea to borrow my moms Netflix account (thanks mom) and watch it over the internet. But its kinda a pain. So Stefen thought we could just buy a cord to connect the laptop to the TV and everything will be perfect. So we went on Amazon found what we thought was the right cord for cheap. The description verified that it was what we wanted. So we bought it. Well it came in the mail yesterday and we were trying to hook it up and it just wouldnt work. We tried EVERYTHING! Well I decided this was stupid and I wanted my mom back. So we wrote a letter to the company and this is what it said.  (Please note we dont have a Wii it was just to get our point across)


Your product details are stupid!! We have tried to use this cable to connect to everything!!! A tv to monitor and dvd to laptop a wii to monitor. And NONE of it works. I was so excited that I found this product for cheap and then I cant use it for ANYTHING except to waste space in my tiny apartment. I am VERY disappointed with your company and this product. You need to post a better description saying that this product is defective and does not work!  That would be more accurate then what you have. I would like my money back but I do not think that it fair that I have to pay for postage to send the stupid little thing back to you when you clearly wont be able to use it either since it is broken and has no other use then to say hey look I am a bunch of random wires that thinks I can do something and I cant.
So the whole point of this little email is to say that your product is a waste of space and peoples skills to make the thing when clearly they dont have knowledge to create a proper product. And you clearly dont have the brain matter to create a correct product description. So even though I only spent $3 on the thing, I am in college and I can use that $3 for a jar of peanut butter and a loaf of bread. So I want my money back.

The nose incident...

On Friday night Stefen had decided it would be great fun if he tickled me. I went to go tickle him and his knee shot straight up into my nose I heard some sort of noise of something. I broke down into tears sad to admit but it hurt! It wasnt bleeding but I could tell something was wrong. We put ice on it and went to bed.... The next morning it was HUGE!! Okay to me it felt huge but it wasnt to big and it killed. I had to teach and I knew this was not going to be my day. I noticed blood every time I blew my nose which hurt to do that do. So I went to work to just push through it. Well I was right it wasnt my day. I got kicked smacked and head banged all in the nose! I went home feeling defeated with a sore nose and a headache to match. Today is Sunday. 2 days since the dreaded incident. I havent been to the doctor because if it broken they cant do anything for me. If it isnt broken they will tell to go home and rest. Is that worth $100? I dont think so. So here I sit with my huge nose waiting for dinner to finish cooking wishing that my nose could feel normal again.

A side note: I did not feel like posting pictures plus you wouldnt really be able to see the bruising or the swelling on the picture any way. Plus I didnt want to be made of.

The troubles of life..

We have had some difficult times lately...
For instance Stefen decided to tell me that he saw a cockroach in our kitchen. He was very nonchalant about the whole thing and said it as if it was fine that there are bugs in our kitchen. Needless to say I had a heart attack and INSISTED that we ask for the free pest control service.
Then our washer has decided to start squeaking as loud and utterly possible. On Saturday I was done dealing with the stupid thing and I again INSISTED that we get maintenance to fix it. And now it sounds pretty!!
Stefen had his windshield replaced by a mobile company and they decided to break the glass ALL over the truck. Which they didnt clean up. So they are coming tomorrow because I refuse to get in the thing and get cut.
I took a final on Friday and the test errored out as I was submitting it. The testing center seemed to think it wasnt a big deal. Well my score didnt post and I have been dealing with that all morning. At this point I dont have to retake it.
Stefen finally let us turn down the AC from 86 to 84! Maybe Ill sleep tonight!!

A non trouble thing is we went to a friends house last night for a fathers day burrito fest with true mexican style burritos! They were amazing!! We had a lot of fun playing games getting to know each other and playing with all the kids. There was  this one baby I just wanted to hold for a minute and all he wanted was Stefen. I guess Im just not cool enough!!

Were doing great as our niece would say. After being in Utah last week I am trying to get on schedule again and get life back to normal!!
