In the thick of it all

We had a fun and fulfilling weekend. We were able to go to the Portland Temple! We were able to see some friends go through and get sealed with their children. It was AWESOME!!! However I am in the thick of being o so sick.. We had to go to Urgent care to get my cough under control and I have a bronchial sinus thingy. Doesnt it sound oh so very medically correct. Alas you now know why this doctor is not my favorite Urgent care doctor! Hopefully some good ol' steroids and a z-pack will get me to breathe without coughing.

In other new we went to see Stefens new GI doctor this week and we LOVE him! He was so considerate and informed us of what Stefen has exactly. (his last doctor was too quiet to let us know.) He also let us know that in 4 years my dear husband will have to have a colonoscopy every 1-2 years for the rest of his life. Sounds just peachy! Poor guy! Stefen once again leaves out of town! :( Hopefully he will be back when he is supposed to!!!

Well once I have more energy I will hopefully get some fun stories and object lessons up!!!

Count your Blessings Name them One by One

I dont know where to start tonight. I lay here listening to my cute husband talk in his sleep and I am holding my sweet Hulk. And I am grateful for what I have and the blessing the lord gives me everyday. My sister Megan fell over 200 feet off a cliff about a year and a half ago. She didnt have a helmet on and she didnt have any ropes. She laid in the canyon for about 7 hours waiting for search and rescue. She had a compound fracture to her right foot and they honestly thought that her foot would not make it. Her left foot also had a fracture. She had a compound fracture to her shoulder and some minor internal damage to a couple organs as well as a break in the tail bone. She was not on a path of righteousness at the time and living in a way we were defiantly not taught. Her and I at the time were not on speaking terms and I am grateful for everyday that she has survived after that day. On that night I could not go up to where she fell. I was stuck only knowing what was happening through pictures and phone calls. She has come from a life of drugs and drinking to a life of being grateful and wanting to share her story for the world to hear. Through the last year and half she has been converting back to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has come along way from that underweight angry young woman, and for that I am proud. I am proud to say that we have a relationship again. I am proud to say that she is MY sister. And I am proud to say she has decided to serve a Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am nervous for her because of health issues but I know that the people she will be going to teach will be very blessed by this amazing young woman. I count my blessings everyday. I count all the family that I have surrounding my life that are still alive. For the next couple weeks the Lord will be preparing us and her for where he wants her to serve. And I hope that where ever she is sent that she will still be the strong young woman I love.

Adventure at the Coast!

So my birthday is this weekend. Boo to getting old! We have a jam packed day tomorrow so we were just going to do a movie. However small miracles happen and Stefen didnt have to work today. So we decided to go fly a kite on the beach. We took Hulk with us and he had a great time. We went to Costco, and Petsmart before we headed out of town. While we were waiting for Costco to open Hulk got to climb his first tree! Unfortunately we didnt take pictures. We also went to a Casino to have lunch. Stefen also let me gamble 1 dollar as he did a while back. I initially won 1.89 but lost it down to .15 cents. It prints this cute ticket for you and I decided it was to cute and not worth it to get my .15 cents. Then we headed to find a beach. The first one was too crowded. The second one was sand dunes. While we were looking for the third we came across the Sea Lion Cave.
There was a lighthouse right by it. Neither one of Us had seen a lighthouse before so it was awesome.

These sea lions were right below the road just chilling.
So when you get there you go into this gift shop buy your tickets and walk down to the elevator. The elevator takes you 200 feet down to sea level and you see this...

Isnt it so cool!! Today they said there was about 250 sea lions and they were LOUD! It was awesome to see them swimming around.

They were everywhere. Most were sleeping. This is the largest sea lion cave in the work. It was discovered in 1894. And I really wonder how the guy found it.

The big rock in the middle was a very popular rock. Some were fighting over it.

These are some of the first bones found and they were really high up! Once you saw what this guy had to climb it was obvious why he died.

On the other end of the cave was this view! You cant see it but there were a ton of birds!

It was super cold down there! I had to remind stefen we were under ground!

This is the most photographed light house in the world.

There was suppose to be a statue in this photo. Obviously our goal was not achieved!
After several hours we finally found a beach that would work for us. So we packed up our towels. blanket, kite, and the cat and found a perfect spot.

Stefen flying the kite. Can I please just insert that it was way too easy to get the kite in the air! I'm not joking. It took no running, no throwing, and no multiple attempts. One try, let all the string up, and TA DA!
We have a flying kit!

Clear up there!

My turn!

Hulk was not so sure of the sand!

Har har!

This is how Hulk flew the kite! Hiding!

CUTE!

Once we got back to the blanket this is how hulk enjoyed the blanket. In his kennel with the worst made blanket in the world!

So pretty!
So this is where we get to the story of the day. So we walked out to the water a bit where the sand was moist but the water wasnt up there. We put Hulk down so he could feel it and let me tell you folks my cat is a germaphobe! He HATES being dirty. So I thought we would be nice and dip his feet in the water. We got to a spot where we had seen the water come up and touch. We waited there for a couple minutes and nothing was coming. So we decided to walk out a little farther. We folks we learned that water moves and changes its level and intensity constantly. I had hulk and was not ably to run. Stefen was able to run away. The water got up to Hulks neck, my knees, and Stefens ankles. Hulk did so good he sat there till the water went down and then I bent down and he hopped on my shoulders. He didnt cry the whole time! I felt so bad. We packed up and went back to the car. We got Hulk cleaned and settled then worked on us. I unfortunately had to loose my pants for the mere fact of all the sand and I was cold (I did cover in a towel! Dont worry! We arent going R rated on you). Stefen had to loose his shoes. Luckily because of some issues with my toe I had my man flip flops on and Stefen squoze into them. We were a pair!
Hulks new ride!

Cheese!

Stefens feet.
On the way home in Newport! Stefen liked the ship!

If you dont know it I have a HORRIBLE fear of bridges. We dont need to get into it but we needed to cross this one and it was LONG and I was freaking out!

Some cool water front homes.

This is how Hulk ended the day. He had a very fun day! And so did we!

Hulks first park!

Have I mentioned we have the coolest cat ever!? He is a riot and a half! Every week we take a drive just to look and see whats around. A couple weeks ago we decided to go have a picnic at a park then go for our drive. Hulk LOVED it! He went head first into a creek! I didnt say he was smart. I said he was cool. As long as there arent a lot of cars or people around he will walk on his leash and explore.
We also saw the coolest house that I know my sister in law would love. So its on here for you!
Hulk playing in the leaves.

By the river! He liked the river oddly enough.

The house!

Beauty!

Looking at the river!

Mythbusters LIVE!!!

My cute husband LOVES Mythbusters the TV show! So when I saw that they were coming to Eugene I knew we had to go. We were in the upper bowl but they were still great seats! We didnt take alot of pictures of the actual show. There was just to much going on. They asked for volunteers and next time we are totally sitting on the floor so we can be part of the action!

WOOT WOOT!!!

Cheese!!!

Der ner ner!

Kissy!

AHHHH

You add the caption!

It was a total blast!! We had so much fun!

Birthday Missionary Package

So I thought it would be fun for you to see some of the packages we send to our missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Currently Stefens brother is out but soon my sister will be going out. Elder Bolanders birthday was a couple days after he went into the field so we got this little package together so he could have a party with his companion. And the best part? Most it came from the dollar store! All of it but the frosting was .99 cents!

We made sure he had "fun" glasses to have a punch and we made sure to include foil pans so he has something to make the cake in.

We had some fun things too like bubbles and silly string. We also included some candy.

Hulk helped us get the package ready!

We also included candles! Every birthday cake needs candles!
It was fun to get this together and he LOVED it! Check back in May for our motivational package!
