Chocolate balls...

Every Christmas my Grandma and Grandpa make these wonder rich amazing chocolate balls. Now the way my grandma makes it verses how we made it work is completely different. Ill give you her version then how we did it.

Ingredients:
A Large tub of whip topping
3 LARGE chocolate bars
cookie coating (we used cinnamon graham crackers and it was really good)
Nuts (if you want. I am not a nut person)

Make sure you leave the cool whip out on the counter for 15 min prior to making the dessert.
Melt all the chocolate in a bowl in the microwave, you dont want it too hot or to chunky. After chocolate is melted pour the cool whip in and nuts if desired and mix. (this is where we ran into problems. Ill get to those in a sec)
Roll into balls (we just used our cookie scoop) and roll into the cookie crumbs and place on plate.
Refrigerate

Okay the problems we ran into. When we mixed the whip topping in with the chocolate it hardened to quickly and it wasnt becoming smooth. I was mixing it with a spatula. So we poured the mixture into the kitchen aid and whipped it that way. However the chocolate had still solidified to fast. So we put the whole kitchen aid bowel into the oven and melted it that way (at 450 F for 3 minutes). It was much more smooth. We did have to freeze it for a while so we could make balls, but the chocolate wasnt solid anymore. If you have questions let me know!

On Monday before Stefen went to school and before we went to the Botanical Gardens Shelbi decided to take us to the supposedly REALLY good pizza place. So we made the trek to downtown and discovered the menu was mostly in Italian and there was NO pizza. But there were really amazing sandwichs and salads.

Green Potata Sammich

A couple days after St. Patrick's day it was Stefens turn to make lunch. He kept saying that we were going to have green potata sammichs. If you know me at all, or even a little bit you will know I have a complex over food touching. Not all foods but there are some foods that are not allowed to touch ANYTHING! Potatoes are one of these foods. So after we had our regular yummy sandwhichs Stefen proceeded to make his Green Potata Sammich.  I took these pictures and had to leave the room. I was having a panic attack over all the food touching that shouldnt touch. Needless to say he said his sammich was good but it gave him a tummy ache. Yep folks thats what happens when food that shouldnt touch, touches! 

P.S. the meat is corned beef.

P.S.S. I know in some cases Sammich and Potata are spelled wrong thats how he kept saying it and I have to keep with the story!

St. Pattys Party!

For St. Patricks day we had a few friends over for a party! A couple of these friends had never had corned beef so we got to share with them! They loved it! Most of us are not cabbage people so we had green mashed potatoes with green gravy and pistashio pudding. The dessert had green too but I forgot to take pictures of it as I was holding my sweet Brielle.

World this is Brielle. She is 3 months old and a doll. We hang out with her and her brother a couple times a week. She was so happy and content but for the life of me I could not get her to smile while the camera was out!

Unfortunalty somehow the card stick for the camera made it to the bottom of my purse and it has lived there for 2 months! So I can finally get pictures off!

Hello Readers!!!

So as our lifes are slowly starting to wind down after the holidays I will be able to catch up on our blog. But in the mean time I wanted to share this wonderful recipe I found. We love pancakes and we love cinnamon rolls so why not have the 2 together! Yep thats right cinnamon roll pancakes! Now mine did not turn out as pretty as hers and I used pancakes mix I had but they were amazing!!! Look here for the recipe!

Day 20 happiness is...

I forgot last night so hear is tonights...

Today I am thankful for homemade doughnuts! They made my night!!! And guess what!? The dough was Rhodes Rolls!!! Who knew!!! I mean AMAZING!!! And Jack and Stefen and I ate a lot of them!! They were sooo yummy!

Random Updates

Before I get to the posts about our trip I wanted to share these moments....

On general conference Sunday we had been asked to help a friend with his car. On the ground there was power steering fluid everywhere and Stefen needed to get under the car. So In 105 degree weather he had to where this insulated work coveralls. Luckily he took off his clothes so he wouldnt be too hot but the poor thing was sweating bullets. But we got it fixed.

Since I have bangs again I really wanted a headband so I found a patteren I like and walah headband in 20 min.

Hot dog cowboys...

We made the name up for this really cool yummy concoction. All you have to do is push spaghetti into cut up hot dogs and boils it. We served it with parmasan cheese, butter, salt and pepper. It was AMAZING!!!

Some random happenings....

I have been really bad at blogging lately. We have had A LOT of company but of course I have not taken a picture... These are some shots with some random stories... 

The macaroni salad we mad for a party.. It was pretty mach amazing.. But we will never make it taste that good even again because we threw so many random spices in there its ridiculous!

Stefen took this photo and if you look very closely you can see a z on my foot. Stefen was pretty thrilled by this discovery.

This is a party we went to on labor day and these are a few of our friends. We had a blast hanging out and swimming and eating amazing food!

So this is terriaki chicken which was incredible. But we had pulled 2 out initially knowing they were big. Well then our company was going to come for dinner but we took them to a friends house for dinner. So we had 4 chicken breasts that needed to be cooked and eaten....

Last night we came out to the living room where our fishies are and discovered one had died. So the other fish needed to be comforted. I know I am a freak Ill admit it. So we had a campout in the living room and watch a movie. It was really fun since we couldnt go to our ward campout this weekend.

We have been doing really good and have had lots of fun. Its finally starting to cool off this week. It was only 99 today and currently its 89. Its pretty thrilling when it cools off.

We Made it!!!

We made it to 50 posts today!! This is number 51! This is pretty exciting to us...

You have learned a little about our lives over the last couple months... We are pretty cool people I think! But we dont know who you are that read this wonderful fabulous blog! I would love to learn about you all...

You have learned that I LOVE taffy town taffy and peach pie.. Infact I have been trying for several weeks now to talk my dad into buying me and sending me taffy town taffy... As well as my friend whitney has been hassled by my undying love for the gem of all taffys... And so far no luck!!!

I love Halloween! I mean I love it! I am so bummed that I only have 3 Halloween decorations...

Stefen likes green tomato relish and my moms spaghetti sauce.. Which we are out of the spaghetti sauce... (hint hint mom)

We LOVE visitors!

I HATE my washer and dryer but at least I have one.... Right?

Stefen likes to work on cars and trucks and he does a fabulous job. We moved from Utah to Arizona for him to go to school for this hobby that soon will be our life...

I teach swim lessons.. I LOVE it! I couldnt ask for a better job! Who doesnt love to play with kids all day!?
