More crafting...

Have I told you about my love for Pinterest? Well I LOVE it! I have found some fun stuff to make and some yummy recipes to concoct. These 2 crafts that I am displaying today I got the ideas from Pinterest but made them in my own way. The first one is an anniversary gift for Stefen. Dont worry he saw it already! I was s excited to give it him I couldnt wait. I knew he would love it and he did!

So I got a deck of cards and I used sand paper to make them look worn out. I wanted a really old feel to it so I atteched the paper with why I love him with elmers glue so it would warp the cards. I also burned a couple of the cards and I added some little cutsie stuff. It turned out awesome! And it took me only a day to make it.

The front.

A burnt page. You can see that i sand papered both sides of every card.

a cutsie thing.

some of them i used a permanent marker to write in some words to make it look like the message got ripped off or forgotten.

Project number 2 this week and the most complicated was a spiders egg with spiders coming out of it. Let me tell you making the egg with only one person is NOT recommended. Unfortunately Stefen was working so I did by myself. I didnt get the globs of glue off like your suppose to but i like how it turned out. I used glue, corn startch and water as my adhesive for the glue and wrapped the yarn and glue around a balloon. and then after it tried it was really cool to watch the balloon detach itself from the yarn. And then we took string and tied the spiders. Which was a pain too because they kept getting tangled. But o well it looks awesome!

Xena...

Often conversations between Stefen and I are confusing and to be honest quite hilarious. We went to a friends house tonight and they are having a baby girl in December. They are naming her Brielle. And her nickname will be none other then Bri. I was telling Stefen how confusing this would be, for me, to have this baby called Bri. (Her parents didn't know my real name is Brianne until they asked if they could name their daughter Brielle after me. I had to explain to them that my name was not Brielle.) Anywho, Stefen suggested that I go by a different nick name. And I asked like what? And he bluntly stated well how about Xena? I was confused as to where this came from and he said that there will not be one other person ever called Xena so then I wont have to have a complex over people having the same names or nick names as I do. I chuckled and for 5 whole minutes he tried to argue his case as to why I should be Xena...

The conclusion: I am still currently Bri. We will see what happens when Brielle is born

Halloween is coming!

I have 3 confessions to make...
Number 1. I LOVE Halloween! Everything about it! I love decorations and make crafts! I just have never had control of my own home before.
Number 2. I LOVE Pinterest. I am addicted. If you dont know what it is: it a site where you can find all sorts of ideas for all sorts of things. Including Halloween crafts.. If you want an invite let me know. I just need your email.
Finally number 3. I have always had a secret desire to decorate a Christmas tree for other holidays. But my mom always said NO! Guess what My house now and  Stefen said YES! So Guess what I did! Look below!

Stefen asked if he could be a "Ghosty" for Halloween. So I got table cloths at the dollar store and we will get white make up for his face. Hes thrilled.

I made this ghost out of food coloring, clear glue, yarn, and googly eyes. I made some with elmers glue and some just plain clear ones. They are way cool!

Really cool skeleton guy

A shower!!

I got to help with my very first baby shower!! It was a blast! Here are the decorations and food. We kept it simple but cute. The theme was ready to pop so we did foods that pop..

An unruly tale: A story as to why decorating should be left to the professionals...

Yesterday as you may already know we went to Ikea. We had a mission and our mission was to protect me from falling DVDs. We looked at all sorts of shelf's, fats ones, square ones, black ones, white ones, and everything in between. We came to a conclusion, a bright red one that could be tipped and tilted in any direction you want. The problem with this shelf is that it is LONG! It is 75 inches long and although you can tip it vertically and horizontly and at different angles we needed wall space. We initially had decided that it was to be in our bedroom. But after several different opinions from only men I got vetoed on having it be very modern. (Read captions for more of this tale)

This was our initial thought. At an angle the movies still stayed on. And it looked really cool. Evan and I were all for it.

But Stefen wanted it straight...

We tried lesser angles and deeper angles. But a decision had to be made. So we brought in Jack! Jack is our downstairs neighbor who thinks he knows everything and probably does..

Jack (the one standing) and Even debating on what to do. Jack had a though that we should try different spaces in the house.. So those mirrors came off and we tried it there. We also tried it in the corner over there above the humidifier. But alas we would have to try a different room..

The boys thought we should attach it to the ceiling.. Where of course the only person who could reach it would be stefen...

Then an idea had formed. If we attach it to the lower ceiling Bri could reach it and it wouldnt look so out of place... But then realizing that my husband is slightly too tall for this idea to work Jack gave up on helping us and went on his merry way home.

After Jack left it was Evan, Stefen, and I alone again. Wondering what we were going to do with this unruly and long shelf... So it was decided...

We went with the straight position above the dresser...

Fish we love part 2

One of our fishes died earlier this week. So we decided to get some more. Evan helped us pick some out and we had fun trying to name them.

This is Fred. He is a ghost cat fish. He is VERY see through

This is picasso. He is paintbrush guppy

That yellow blob is banana our new snail. You can see the ghost cat fish and our fish kool-aid who is one of our older fish

Hot dog cowboys...

We made the name up for this really cool yummy concoction. All you have to do is push spaghetti into cut up hot dogs and boils it. We served it with parmasan cheese, butter, salt and pepper. It was AMAZING!!!

The Human Diaper

These are kinda old but I have forgotten about them. We got this huge diaper pad thing in the mail and had a BLAST playing with it!! Here are some pictures. We just got home from school and work so we are still in our uniforms.

Our New Friend

Everyone meet Evan. Evan meet everyone. Evan comes from Utah. I used to babysit him as a young warthog and I have always been really close to his family. Evan came down to Arizona to go to school with Stefen We have been having a blast having him here. I dont think I will ever be able to go to IKEA without him! It was way tooo much fun!! You all will hear about Evan I am sure often as the 3 of us are our own little family at the moment...
Evan is the guy acting like a geanie

Some random happenings....

I have been really bad at blogging lately. We have had A LOT of company but of course I have not taken a picture... These are some shots with some random stories...

The macaroni salad we mad for a party.. It was pretty mach amazing.. But we will never make it taste that good even again because we threw so many random spices in there its ridiculous!

Stefen took this photo and if you look very closely you can see a z on my foot. Stefen was pretty thrilled by this discovery.

This is a party we went to on labor day and these are a few of our friends. We had a blast hanging out and swimming and eating amazing food!

So this is terriaki chicken which was incredible. But we had pulled 2 out initially knowing they were big. Well then our company was going to come for dinner but we took them to a friends house for dinner. So we had 4 chicken breasts that needed to be cooked and eaten....

Last night we came out to the living room where our fishies are and discovered one had died. So the other fish needed to be comforted. I know I am a freak Ill admit it. So we had a campout in the living room and watch a movie. It was really fun since we couldnt go to our ward campout this weekend.

We have been doing really good and have had lots of fun. Its finally starting to cool off this week. It was only 99 today and currently its 89. Its pretty thrilling when it cools off.

Introducing....

This sweet little angel was born last Monday the 5th to Stefens oldest sister and brother in law. Her name is Elsi. Isnt she adorable? We cant wait to meet and cuddle with this sweet angel!

We Made it!!!

We made it to 50 posts today!! This is number 51! This is pretty exciting to us...

You have learned a little about our lives over the last couple months... We are pretty cool people I think! But we dont know who you are that read this wonderful fabulous blog! I would love to learn about you all...

You have learned that I LOVE taffy town taffy and peach pie.. Infact I have been trying for several weeks now to talk my dad into buying me and sending me taffy town taffy... As well as my friend whitney has been hassled by my undying love for the gem of all taffys... And so far no luck!!!

I love Halloween! I mean I love it! I am so bummed that I only have 3 Halloween decorations...

Stefen likes green tomato relish and my moms spaghetti sauce.. Which we are out of the spaghetti sauce... (hint hint mom)

We LOVE visitors!

We like to hang out with our friends on Sundays..

I HATE my washer and dryer but at least I have one.... Right?

Stefen likes to work on cars and trucks and he does a fabulous job. We moved from Utah to Arizona for him to go to school for this hobby that soon will be our life...

I teach swim lessons.. I LOVE it! I couldnt ask for a better job! Who doesnt love to play with kids all day!?

Thats some new things and some old things about us... What about you? What do you like!?

A Fun week

So we all know how awful I am at taking pictures of things... Well Stefens mom Ann came to visit this week and guess what!? I did NOT take a single photo... I should be fired!

We had a blast she got to go to work with me.. (which I am sure was not as entertaining for her as it is for me) We ran errands and she got to see the famous MEXI MART!!!! We went shopping for our new niece baby E. We went to down town Glendale and had the most amazing gluten free, white flour free, and preservative free cookies ever! They were absolutely positively fantastic! Too bad they are 2 dollars a cookie or I would have fattened myself up on a dozen of these amazing cookies!

Ann also helped our closet get a little more organized which to me is AMAZING! I love organizing the only problem is... you have to have money to organize with...

Coming up this week we have the Johnsons coming to stay with us and we have a Labor Day/Housewarming party... Hopefully I can redeem myself by taking LOTS of pictures... I am also helping to plan a you are about to pop baby shower! I am so excited it will be lots of fun!!
